Class: Falafel 101
Want to learn how to make the most delicious falafel you’ve ever had? Then this class is for you!
This class is a celebration of the humble chickpea—aka garbanzo bean. An essential cover crop for Palouse wheat, making our region the #1 producer in the country.
Hearty, versatile, and equally at home in snacks, appetizers, and main dishes—we’ll explore it all. While it’s a staple in vegetarian and vegan cooking, it’s something everyone loves.
Chef Robin will guide you through, sharing the fundamentals of falafel, fresh pita from scratch, and how to build real depth of flavor using whole spices. We’ll round things out with a variety of classic accompaniments for this Levantine staple.
• Best practices for working with dried pulses
• Pita bread from scratch
• Toasting spices
• Za’atar
• Chickpea fritters as an appetizer
• Falafel for a sandwich with traditional accompaniments
• Lemon tahini sauce
• Spicy garlic yogurt sauce
We’ll finish by sitting down together and enjoying everything we’ve made.
Price includes gratuity.
Beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Photo and video may be captured. Let us know in advance if you prefer not to be included.
